Small Things Like These!!!
Join us for an exclusive preview screening!
Small Things Like These is a haunting and deeply moving historical drama set in 1985 Ireland, adapted from Claire Keegan’s acclaimed novella. Cillian Murphy delivers a quietly powerful performance as Bill Furlong, a coal merchant and devoted father who uncovers disturbing secrets at a local convent—linked to the infamous Magdalene laundries. As Christmas approaches, Bill is forced to confront not only the town’s complicity but also his own past, in a story that explores moral courage, silence, and redemption.
Directed by Tim Mielants and written by Enda Walsh, the film premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival to critical acclaim and has since earned multiple awards, including Best Film and Best Lead Actor at the Irish Film & Television Awards.
Come and join us for an evening you won't forget!
Check-in from 18:15. The film will start showing after a welcome from SIS and friends of the Society at 18:30. There is a lovely bar in Zita cinema that serves food and drinks. It'll be open before and after the film, for a mingle and any post-film craic!
