St Patrick's Day Parade 2019

The St. Patrick's Day parade will be on Saturday the 16th March 2019 and will begin and end at Kungsträdgården!! 

The parade is arranged annually by the Swedish-Irish Society, with support this year from the Irish Embassy, Irish Emigrant Support programme and sponsors O'Dwyer Goldsmith and Tourism Ireland.

DETAILS: GATHERING AND PRE-PARADE ACTIVITIES

We will gather at Kungsträdgården, by the stage. Come along at 11:00 and soak up the atmosphere, catch up with old friends or meet some new ones. There will be face-painting, balloons, costumes and other activities - learn a few phrases of Irish, or try some Irish dancing steps! Come early!

A TASTE OF IRELAND

During the day you will get the chance to try some fabulous Irish and Irish inspired food from fish and chips (Milner's Fish and Chips) to some Irish tea. There'll be lots of food to try so make sure you get there before it all runs out!

PARADE The parade will depart at 13:00 led as always by St Patrick, the Irish Ambassador to Sweden, guest UN Veterans Pipe band flown in from Ireland, majestic Irish wolfhounds, the wonderful Stockholm Pipe Band and hundreds of happy people in a colourful and fun spectacle and more!

The parade route will wind back to Kungsträdgården so you can join in at any part but the most fun is to do the whole walk!

Parade route: Kungsträdgården via Jussi Björlings allé – Hamngatan – Birger Jarlsgatan – Sturegatan – Linnégatan – Sibyllegatan – Väpnargatan – Artillerigatan – Strandvägen - Nybroplan - Hamngatan till Kungsträdgården

IRISH CULTURE CONCERT

Music and dance will follow during a cultural concert at Kungsträdgården by Fada, Aingeala de Burca, Ciara, the Irish Stockholm trad group and the Stockholm Set Dancers. St. Patrick will lead and let you know about what's going on in the country!
