Join us for our annual crab buffet lunch in Stockholm. The buffet includes beautiful wild Atlantic crab from Donegal, Ireland, served with bread, cheese, salad, followed by tea/coffee and something sweet.

If you don't eat crab you are still welcome to join us. You will order from the regular menu and pay the restaurant directly. You still need to register so we know how many are joining as overall numbers are limited.

This event is a long-standing SIS tradition! The crabs themselves are very generously sponsored by Seasam Food AB, who import these and other delicious seafood to Sweden from Ireland, available in larger supermarkets under the brand name "Ullmo". Note: You can now choose to pay either "online" or "offline". Online means immediate payment and confirmation via debit or credit card, and offline means you will receive an invoice by email with instructions on how to pay by Swish, bank transfer or e.g. Revolut.

Halloween in Skåne! (11 Oct 2026)

Hello All / A Chairde,

We are delighted to announce that our first Skåne Swedish-Irish Society Halloween event is happening soon!

When? Sunday the 11th of October from 13.00 - 15.00

Where? Stora Kulladal Farm, Kulladalsvägen 48-0, 23191 Trelleborg.

Who? Not just for families and children! Everyone who enjoys a bit of Samhain (Halloween) is welcome!

What?

Brandy and her family have a small hobby farm where they sell pumpkins during the autumn and she has agreed to host us and guide us through pumpkin carving.

We will have a few Halloween games!

What to bring?

A pumpkin carving kit (The farm has a few available.)

Weather appropriate clothing (The carving will happen in a barn.

Cost:

The event is free; you just pay for the pumpkin(s) you carve.

Fika is available for purchase.

To note: There is no disabled toilet.

Hike at Hellasgården(Stockholm) (18 Oct 2026)

Hi everyone!

On Sunday the 18th of October we're planning a hike in Nackareservatet (Nacka Nature Reserve) in Stockholm.
The hike will be around 7.5 km at a fairly relaxed pace, starting and ending at the Hellasgården recreational area near Källtorp lake. We'll be following a marked trail and the terrain is mostly easy gravel paths. I recommend bringing shoes that can handle a bit of mud, and rain gear too if we get any showery spells.

We'll finish at Hellasgården where they have a restaurant and café if you want to have lunch or coffee, they also have benches if you'd like to take your own packed lunch and snacks.
The hike starts at 10:30 from Hellasgården bus stop (beside the tennis courts, across the road from the restaurant and main car park). So put it in your calendar and we hope to see you there!
Don't forget to bring a camera for those autumn leaves!

P.s. If the weather is rubbish we may cancel, so keep an eye on our event.

Instructions on how to get to Hellasgården with public transport are as follows:
1. Take a bus from Slussen: the 401 (towards Älta), it stops at Hellasgården and goes through Henriksdal and Sickla.
2. Take a bus from Nacka or Tyresö: the 840 (from Nacka Strand to Handenterminalen) or 821 (from Nacka Sjukhus to Tyresö Centrum), both stop at Hellasgården.
