The Swedish-Irish Society is run entirely by volunteers, who give up 1000s of hours of their free time each year to make events happen, to gather and distribute information of interest to the membership, to administrate memberships and payments, and keep the torch going, as it has been doing since 1949
The Society has never had offices and has never employed staff. Board members do not receive any fees or compensation.
The board meets online and/or in person approximately once a month. A new board is elected at the Annual General Meeting which is held in April or May. Board members are elected for 2-year terms, and deputies for 1-year terms.
