Did you know that the Swedish Irish Society has been building friendships since 1949? The Society’s existence today is a testimony to decades of commitment. Those of you who have been members for years and years – your support is appreciated!
The Society is a member-driven organisation, and run by volunteers, so naturally we are completely dependent on active memberships for survival and input.
We love to welcome new members to the Society. Every new member brings their energy, enthusiasm and ideas, and ensures we respond to the evolving needs of our community.
As well as access to a network for Irish in Sweden, membership entitles you to attend the society’s many activities at a discounted rate, to an e-newsletter with information of relevance to the Irish community in Sweden, to enter competitions, and on production of your membership card you also receive a 10% discount at the following pubs: Wirströms (Gamla stan), The Liffey (Gamla stan), The Auld Dub (formerly The Dubliner, Hötorget) and O’Connells (Gamla stan). If you use Facebook, you can join our members’ group for advance information of events and access to tips and support from other members.
Membership is for a calendar year, January to December. The cost of membership for 2017 is:
Family: 300 kr
Individual: 200 kr
Retired/pensioner: 150 kr
First time members/students: 100 kr
The fee covers the running costs of the society (printing, banking/payment fees, postage, website hosting, materials). Events that require cover charges are subsidised for members. All Society committee members give their time voluntarily.
You can pay by either bank transfer, Swish, credit/debit card or PayPal. Payment details are here.
