Strengthening our cultural bonds – and having fun while we do it!

Halloween

Halloween originates from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain and Halloween is therefore celebrated a lot in Ireland. (We brought it with us when large numbers of us emigrated to the USA in the 19th and 20th centuries.)

In Ireland, we dress up, go trick-or-treating at our neighbour’s doors, play games, tell scary stories, and gather around bonfires. Here in Sweden, we like to share with you how we do it!

In 2016 we arranged two very successful events, a Children’s Party and a film event (screening of “Grabbers”). We plan events again this year, keep an eye on the calendar and/or on Facebook.
