2017

Here are just some of the events that the Society hosted/was involved in/is planning this year:

  • Newsletter with news of interest to the Swedish-Irish community (3-4 times/year)
  • Competitions for events of interest
  • Monthly Mingles – informal get-togethers held approx. one evening a month to encourage old and new members to meet up (monthly)
  • Paddies with Prams – coffee mornings for those with mini-members
  • St. Patrick’s Parade (Saturday 18 March)
  • Performance by Spuds & Sill, the society’s amateur drama group (April)
  • AGM/årsmöte (May)
  • Irish whiskey tasting evening (potential event)
  • Family Picnic, in conjunction with Stockholm Gaels (summer)
  • Floating Mingle/boat trip (summer)
  • Annual Crab Lunch (usually October)
  • Hallowe’en Party for children (end of October)
  • Hallowe’en film screening (potential event)
  • Annual Christmas Party (December)

Our events are usually held in Stockholm but we would like to arrange one outside of Stockholm too. If you would like to host one, please let us know!

2016

  • Newsletter with news of interest to the Swedish-Irish community (ca 4 times/year)
  • Competitions for tickets to see Tommy Tiernan perform live in Stockholm (February); Dorian Greys porträtt (October)
  • Monthly Mingles – informal get-togethers held approx. one evening a month to encourage old and new members to meet up (monthly)
  • Paddies with Prams – coffee mornings for those with mini-members
  • St. Patrick’s Day Parade (19 March)
  • Staging of “100″ by Spuds & Sill, the society’s amateur drama group (23-24 April)
  • AGM/årsmöte (May)
  • Irish whiskey tasting evening (date to be announced)
  • Family Fun Day in collaboration with the Stockholm Gaels GAA club (6 June)
  • Annual Crab Lunch (16 October)

2014

  • Meet-and-greet at Tommy Tiernan show (including raffling of free tickets for the show)
  • Monthly Mingles – informal get-togethers held approx. one evening a month to encourage old and new members to meet up
  • Family Fun Day in collaboration with the Stockholm Gaels GAA club (6th June)
  • A competition to win tickets to see international sensation “Riverdance” perform in Stockholm
  • A special member’s discount for “RIAN”, a dance performance with Irish connections, in collaboration with Dansens Hus
  • Family Fun Day II in collaboration with the Stockholm Gaels GAA club (13th September)
  • Annual Crab Party (12th October)
  • Spuds & Sill performance at “Samhain Celtic Festival” at Stallet, Stockholm (31st October)
  • Halloween Party for children (1st Nov)
  • Annual Christmas Party (6th December)
